From the South
Leave the M6 at junction 36 and take the A591 Kendal bypass through to Windermere. Just through Windermere turn right onto the A592 to the Kirkstone pass and Ullswater. Over the pass and down the other side, towards the bottom, you will see The Brotherswater Inn and then Brotherswater on your left. Keep following road and take right turn signposted Hartsop. Follow road into Hartsop and take first track on your left (sign for Weavers cottage on dry-stone wall at the roadside)

From the North
At junction 40 on the M6, take the A66 westward towards Keswick. After a quarter of a mile turn left on to the A592 to Ullswater, following the road for approximately six miles (through Glenridding & Patterdale) in the direction of Windermere and Kirkstone Pass. Approximately two miles beyond Patterdale you will signpost for Hartsop. Follow road into Hartsop and take first track on your left (sign for Weavers cottage on dry-stone wall at the roadside)
